We are pleased to be able to offer the following additional external services to our patients
Laura is a solution focused hypnotherapist and a registered mental health nurse who is dedicated to empowering people to take control of their lives to bring about positive change. Her main aim as a therapist is to help people lower their anxiety, increase wellbeing and quality of life. Hypnotherapy gives people the ability to cope in many different situations in a calm and controlled way. Laura can help you to control your stress levels, become more relaxed and give your confidence a boost. Hypnotherapy is a safe, reliable method of treatment for many problems, has no harmful side effects and is suitable for just about everyone.
Laura’s experience as a nurse has included working in an inpatient unit for adolescents where her particular interest was eating disorders. She then had a career break to start a family and went on to work in drug and alcohol rehabilitation and then an inpatient unit for adults with varying mental health problems. Laura is able to draw on her nursing experience to offer effective person centred treatment. Laura holds a Hypnotherapy Practioner Diploma (HPD) and is a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists (AfSFH). She is also a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). The CNHC register has been set up so that GPs and the public can see which practitioners have been assessed as meeting national standards of competence and practice. As a member of these associations, she adheres to a strict code of ethics. Laura also holds a current enhanced CRB/DBS certificate.
