Extra GP and nurse clinics are held during normal hours, and additional appointments will also be offered at one of the Forest of Dean Surgeries between 6:30pm and 8pm on weekdays and on Saturday mornings.
Patients registered with any GP Surgery within the Forest of Dean will be able to have an appointment at these extra clinics.
If you are unable to attend a routine GP appointment during surgery opening hours, you can attend:
Gloucester Health Access Centre
121-131 Eastgate Street

They are open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm, 365 days a year, including bank holidays.
You can book a same day appointment by calling 01452 336290.

Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Automated check-in
We have an automated check-in screen located on the wall to the right hand side of the reception desk. The machine is very easy to use and only requires entry of gender and day and month of birth in order to register your attendance.
We thank you for using this system in consideration of our receptionists, allowing them to answer potentially urgent phone calls and continue with administrative duties, and hope that our patients enjoy reduced queuing times as a result. However, our reception staff will always be available to answer any of your queries if needed.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible so that we can make the appointment available to other patients.
Whilst we are so grateful to the 90% of our patients who do attend their appointments on time; regretfully if you are late for an appointment we are not able to ensure that you will be seen.
To cancel your appointment:
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- using the GP online system: SystmOnline
- phone us on 01594 510225 during opening times
If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
- if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
- if you need an interpreter
- if you have any other access or communication needs
Home visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery when necessary, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible.
In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by telephoning the surgery on 01594 510225 before 10am.
Home visits are exceptional as only the surgery is properly equipped with the necessary tools for our GPs to make a proper diagnosis of your condition.
So we reserve home visits solely for those who are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice.
A GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.
Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule home visits.
You can also be visited at home by a district nurse if you are referred by your GP.
